COAL TOWNSHIP — A Hughesville woman was seriously injured when she lost control of her car on Route 54 and struck a guiderail early Sunday morning, authorities said.

Charly Warg, 20, was driving west at about 5 a.m. when she lost control of her 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier near the water filtration plant on Route 54, Coal Township police said.

Warg and her passenger, John Bobbit, 22, of Ringtown, were taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, by ambulance.

Bobbit was treated and released, and Warg was still listed in serious condition Sunday night, according to a nursing supervisor.

Township police said charges are pending the completion of their investigation.
