WATSONTOWN — Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the Monday evening fire that destroyed an equipment shed and its contents on a Delaware Township farm.

Mark Burrows, Warrior Run Area Fire Department chief, estimated damage to the shed and several tractors and other farm machinery inside at $185,000.

Burrows said when he arrived at the scene of 6:40 p.m. blaze, the building was engulfed in flames. During the battle with the flames, numerous explosions emanated from the shed, and firefighters had to concentrate on protecting adjacent buildings in addition to extinguishing the fire.

The shed was on the farm of Gary and Kelly Truckenmiller at 2145 Cronrath Road, Delaware Township. The building and contents were insured.

In addition to Warrior Run firefighters, companies from White Deer Township, Milton. Hughesville, Clarkstown and Montgomery were on the scene. The last units returned to service at 9:30 p.m.
