Communities throughout the Valley will hold cermonies paying respect to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today
Mazeppa — Parade begins at 6 p.m. followed by a service in the Mazeppa Cemetery. Speaker will be Lucien Maurer. Following the service, Scouts will sponsor an ice cream social in the community center.
Mifflinburg — Church service at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 507 Green St. Veterans will gather at 1 p.m. at the American Legion and V.F.W for a brief service at the West End followed by a service at the Hartleton Hill Cemetery followed by a service at the George Zimmerman gravesite at Ray’s Church Cemetery off Route 45.
Riverside — The 43rd annual Riverside-Rush Township Memorial Day service will be held 11:15 a.m. at the war monument in Riverside next to the municipal building.

Monday
Milton —Veterans meet at 10 a.m. for a church service at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mahoning Street, Milton. At 6 p.m. veterans gather at Post 71, North Front Street, to form a rifle squad and color guard to march at the Twin Churches Cemetery in West Milton.
Beavertown — Service will be held in the Veterans Memorial Rose Garden, corner of North Orange and West Walnut streets, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The 60th anniversary of this Veterans Memorial Rose Garden will be celebrated. A new stone honor roll with the names of all deceased veterans buried in Beavertown carved thereon will be unveiled.
Danville — Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at the Danville-Riverside Bridge followed by a parade at 10 a.m. Celebration concludes with a service at Memorial Park.
Lewisburg — Parade forms at 10 a.m. on North Second Street, Cole’s parking lot. The parade moves at 10:30 a.m. and travels to Seventh Street Cemetery. Following the parade everyone is invited to Post 182 American Legion for refreshments.
Middleburg — Parade, led by the Mid-West High School Band begins at 5:30 p.m. at Midd-West High School and proceeds to Glendale Cemetery, where a ceremony begins at 6:15 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at Emmanual Lutheran Church, 100 S. Main St.
Milton — Veterans of both posts will meet at 7 a.m. to travel to Milton and St. Joseph’s cemeteries. A parade will form 8 to 9 a.m. at the east end of Center Street at the old shoe factory parking lot, with parade beginning at 9. Following the parade, a service will be held at the flag pole at the veteran’s plot in Harmony Cemetery.
Montoursville — Program begins at 10 a.m. at the Montoursville Cemetery. Included in the program is a special wreath-laying ceremony honoring the deceased veterans with special emphasis on the Korean War deceased. Featured will be a Hometown Heroes display, and an exhibit of military vehicles sponsored by the NC Pa. Military Museum Inc., and the Lycoming County Veterans Council Inc. In case of inclement weather, the program will be conducted at the American Legion Post 104, 1312 Broad St. Chairs will be provided, and light refreshments served.
Mifflinburg — Program at Forest Hill Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Parade begins at 7 p.m.
New Berlin — Parade forms at 1:30 p.m. at the American Legion and moves to the New Berlin Cemetery at 2 p.m.
New Columbia — Parade forms at 10:30 a.m. at the White Deer Township Fire Department and begins at 11 a.m., proceeding through the village to Highlands Cemetery where a brief ceremony will be conducted.
Northumberland — Parade forms at King Street Park at 8:30 a.m., moves at 9 a.m., proceeds to Riverview Cemetery for a service.
Selinsgrove — Ceremonies at 9 a.m. on the steps of the Selinsgrove borough building followed by a parade at 9:45 a.m. Ceremonies will be performed along the parade route at various cemeteries throughout the borough. Following the parade, the honor guard will motorcade to Evergreen Cemetery performing at 11:50 a.m., Salem Cemetery at noon concluding with Union Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
Snyder County — Services begin at Post 25 at 8 a.m. proceeding to the Selinsgrove borough building at 9 a.m. and parade beginning at 9:45 ending at Union at 12:30 p.m.
Sunbury — Parade forms at Raspberry Avenue and Tenth Street at 10 a.m. and moves at 10:30 a.m. to Cameron Park where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. In case of inclement weather, services will be held at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post 201, Market Street.
Troxelville — Service at 11 a.m. at the Troxelville Union Cemetery. In the event of rain, the service will be held inside Grace Reformed Church. For information, contact Barb at 658-7658.
