8 named Young Americans

— SHAMOKIN DAM -- The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the list of area high school students named as Young Americans for May.
Each month, the chamber recognizes students from participating schools for academic and community achievements.
Throughout the following month, The Daily Item will publish photos of each Young American along with information on their school activities, achievements, community involvement and interests.
Young Americans for May are:
Danville: Caitlin Cavanaugh, daughter of Gene and Cindy Cavanaugh, of Danville
Lewisburg:Allison Housholder, daughter of Judy VanNoy and Tim Housholder, of Lewisburg
Line Mountain: Lyndsay Welker, daughter of Rick and Denise Welker, of Dalmatia
Midd-West: Adam Simmonds, son of Jacquelyn Shetterly, of Penns Creek
Mifflinburg: Emily Katherine Morgan, daughter of Terry and Holly Morgan, of Mifflinburg
Selinsgrove: Alison Varner, daughter of Jami Varner, of Shamokin Dam, and the late Randy Varner
Shikellamy: Lauren Redington, daughter of Larry and Barbara Redington, of Northumberland
SUN Area Career & Technology Center: Nicole Kuhns, daughter of Jeff and Karen Kuhns, of Middleburg
