MIDDLEBURG — The detours for the Route 522 bridge replacement project in downtown Middleburg tentatively are scheduled to go into effect at about 1 p.m. Thursday.
Two detours will be in effect for the duration of the project. Drivers on Route 522 will use Paxtonville Road, where a temporary traffic signal has been installed at the intersection with Route 104.
Automobile traffic using Route 104 also will take Paxtonville Road west to Route 522, than back into Middleburg to the intersection with Route 104.
Northbound trucks on Route 104 will be detoured east on Route 522 to Route 204 in Selinsgrove, then north on Route 204 to Route 304 in New Berlin, north on Route 304 to White Springs Road to rejoin Route 104.
The southbound truck detour is from Route 104 at White Springs Road to Route 304 to Route 15 at Winfield, then south on Route 15 to the Route 35 junction near Selinsgrove and then back to Route 104 at Mount Pleasant Mills.
These detours will be in effect through August, when the new bridge is expected to be completed.
