Police charge alleged skirt chaser

HUMMELS WHARF — A Missouri man has been charged by police for following women around in the Boscov’s Department Store and taking photographs under their dresses when they weren’t looking.

Brian Thomas Hoy, 43, of Maryville, Mo., was seen by Boscov’s security personnel at approximately 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. He would wait until the women were distracted, they said, and then would bend down and take the photographs.

According to Selinsgrove State Police Trooper Brent Bobb, there were at least two women involved, but could not say how many photos were taken. One of the women was a 39-year-old Selinsgrove resident.

Hoy used a digital camera, which can also stream video, Bobb said. Police were able to retrieve the camera, as well as the security tape from the store.

Hoy was cited for summary offenses of harassment and stalking. Bobb said Hoy is not required to remain in the area.

He also said troopers did not feel more serious charges were not warranted according to their interpretation of the crimes code.
