BLOOMSBURG — A hearing on accused child molester Jack E. Harclerode’s motion to withdraw a guilty plea in Columbia County Court has been postponed.
Harclerode, 72, of 1225 Supplee Mill Road, Lewisburg, was scheduled to appear today before Judge Thomas A. James Jr. to withdraw a guilty plea to first-degree indecent assault of a 10-year-old boy.
The hearing has been delayed until July 31.
In the event the judge rejects the motion, Harclerode will be sentenced that same day.
The Union County man pleaded guilty in January to having sexual contact with the Lancaster boy at a Columbia County campground near Elysburg in June 2006.
By May, Harclerode had obtained a new attorney, Peter Campana, of Williamsport, and asked to withdraw the plea.
He’s also facing separate child pornography and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse charges in Union County.
