WATSONTOWN — A Delaware Drive woman was jailed late Monday after she allegedly attacked police officers taking her home after an earlier incident.
Police said Najat D. Dwulet was being transported to her home at 11 p.m. Monday by Milton and Watsontown officers following an incident earlier in the evening in Sunbury.
As police assisted her, she became combative and confrontational, creating a disturbance in the neighborhood. She was ordered to settle down several times, but instead came at the officers in an aggressive manner and struck one before being subdued.
Even after being taken into custody, she continued to resist, kicking an officer as she was being placed in a police vehicle, and she attempted to kick out the rear window of the police car.
Dwulet was taken to the Watsontown police station, where she was arraigned by video before on-call District Judge Carl Rice. She was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Rice set bail at $25,000, and she was taken to Northumberland County Prison because she could not post bail.
