Fireworks light up Lewisburg skies following early storm

“I moved here from Philadelphia and I work all the time in Williamsport, but I make time this day every year to play with my brother’s three kids,” Anderson said. “This is such a great celebration. It’s everything you want in small-town living.”

Celebration continues today

The Union County Veterans 15th annual Fourth of July parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. today in Lewisburg. A veterans recognition ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. at the President’s Grove, Loomis Street and University Avenue, Bucknell University. A picnic and band concerts get under way at noon at the President’s Grove and will feature the 28th Infantry Division Band from Hollidaysburg; the Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps, Reading; and the Fralinger String Band, Philadelphia.
