LEWISBURG — An intoxicated Lewisburg man threatened a woman with a ‘world of hurt’ and told one officer he was going to ‘rip his heart out’ before being placed in prison after the discovery he was on state parole.

Lewisburg Police said around 10:43 p.m. June 19 they were called 55 S. Water St. where they found Dale R. Short, 42, attempting to force entry into the apartment of Nicola Manning. He was taken into custody at gun point.

Manning told police she was in the apartment with her 9-year-old son when she heard banging on the rear door. She said the male yelled at her to “open the door or you will be in a world of hurt.” She told police she was able to see the man and he had a “crazed look in his eyes.” She recognized him only by face, according to court documents.

Manning told police she and her son then left her apartment out the front door, entered her car and locked the doors, waiting for the authorities’ arrival.

Short, of 57 S. Water St., Apt 5, admitted to drinking eight beers, police said, and shortly after being taken into custody began screaming and yelling at authorities that he did nothing.

According to court documents, Short had to be physically dragged to the cruiser and continued shouting obscenities at the officer and demanded to be let go.

At the station, police said Short refused to exit the vehicle and spit in the officer’s face. Once inside, police said he claimed once the handcuffs were off he was going to “rip his heart out and kill him.” He spit on a second officer’s uniform.

Short was secured and it was discovered he was wanted on state parole. He was ultimately taken to Snyder County Prison.

Charges were filed June 22 in District Judge Leo Armbruster’s office. He faces charges of felony burglary, two felony counts of terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, two counts of disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness.
