Liverpool man dies after rig hits truck

— LIVERPOOL -- A 57-year-old Liverpool man was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on Routes 11-15 in Liverpool, state police reported.
Police said Robin Deibler, 57, of Liverpool, was hauling a car on his rollback tow truck when he drove from North Alley into the path of a tractor-trailer just after 8 a.m.
They said Deibler had stopped at the stop sign at North Alley before the crash. The driver of the rig, Jan Stepniewski, 60, of Ontario, Canada, swerved to avoid hitting Deibler's truck, but his rig struck the driver's side door of Deibler's truck. Both vehicles came to rest about 20 feet from the road.
Police said the highway was closed for about 30 minutes.
