From staff and wire reports

LAMAR -- A Lewisburg man driving the wrong way on Interstate 80 late Friday night was among three people killed in a three-car collision in Clinton County, state police at Lamar report. Two hours later, a Scranton pedestrian died after being struck by a car along Routes 11-15 in Hummels Wharf.

John J. Pick Jr., 44, of Lewisburg, caused the Clinton County crash that also killed another motorist and injured four others, police said.

Pick was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Corsica west in the eastbound lanes and struck a 2002 Lincoln Blackwood driven by the Rev. Timothy Wright, 61, of Roosevelt, N.Y., head-on in Greene Township, near mile post 194, around 10:35 p.m. Another car traveling east, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Kyle Creasap, 25, of Marion, Ohio, then struck Wright's vehicle.

Wright's wife, Betty, 58, was killed. Wright and his grandson, D.J. Wright, 14, were critically injured and taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. The severity of injuries to Creasap was unknown. His passenger, Heather Berringer, 23, also of Marion, was in fair condition at Geisinger.

The grandson has become the third victim to die in the Interstate 80 crash. D.J. Wright, 14, died Saturday evening, a nursing supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville said today.

The Rev. Wright, 61, remains in critical condition.

Berringer remained in fair condition today, the nursing supervisor said.

Pick was not wearing a seat belt; Betty Wright and Creasap were. Police were not able to determine whether the other victims were wearing seat belts.

Wright has released more than a dozen gospel recordings, and his latest album, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus," came out last year. He is the pastor at Grace Tabernacle Christian Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Wrights were returning from a Church of God in Christ conference in Detroit, said Leroy Johnson, a trustee at Grace Tabernacle.

The couple has five sons, and the family asked that no other information be released, Johnson said Saturday.

Sugar Valley EMS and Fire, Dunnstown and Flemington EMS, White Deer Township Fire and EMS, Med 60 Evangelical Hospital and Life Flight assisted at the scene.

Hummels Wharf accident

A Scranton man stepped into the path of Routes 11-15 traffic and was killed early Saturday, state police at Selinsgrove report.

Joseph Farrell, 56, was walking his bike north around 12:40 a.m. near Monroe Marketplace when he stepped between two construction barrels and into the northbound path of a 2002 Ford Focus driven by Eric Tanner, 19, of 410 Meadow Lane, Northumberland.

Farrell made impact with the right front of the car, hit the windshield and was thrown to the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Snyder County Coroner Bruce Hummel.
