NORTHUMERLAND — A man wanted for leaving a halfway house in Philadelphia was apprehended early Friday morning at a home on Ninth Street in Point Township, police said.
Point Township Police said they were notified by their counterparts in Sunbury that Mark Stills, 32, was staying at the 274 Ninth St. residence of Julie Elliot, 20, of Point Township. Officers converged on the home and took Stills into custody without incident.
Police said Sills left a halfway house in April without permission. He had previously served a 5-10 year in stint in prison after pleading guilty to robbery and related charges stemming from a 1993 crime.
Stills was taken to the Northumberland County Prison to await transfer to a state correctional institution. Point Township Police were assisted by officers from Sunbury and Northumberland.
