SELINSGROVE -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. will speak at Susquehanna University's rededication ceremony of the Arlin M. Adams Center for Law and Society in September.
Center Director Allan Sobel said Alito's campus visit and speech on Sept. 15 will focus on the importance of access to justice.
Alito and Adams both served on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court justice is a liaison to the court.
The event, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Weber Chapel Auditorium, is free and open to the public.
The center will also be celebrating the opening of the Neysa Adams Pro Se Assistance and Mediation Clinic that week. The clinic will be based at the CareerLink on Broad Street in Selinsgrove and serve residents in Snyder, Northumberland and Union counties in need of legal assistance in civil matters.
General information will be provided to people making their way on their own through the legal system, as well as free legal advice, educational seminars and mediation services.
