Joyce Beaver lived alone at 165 Stump Road, according to neighbor Tom Lily. Fire companies from throughout the region fought the blaze, which was reported about 9 p.m. Mahoning Township Fire Chief Kevin Yount said at the scene that he was not aware of any injuries. According to Young, the fire companies that responded included Liberty Township, Valley Township, Potts Grove, Mahoning Township, Continental and Washingtonville. The home was on a hill, and firefighters restricted access to the scene. They used tanker trucks to relay water to the property. The extent of damage was unknown. At least 16 fire trucks were still at the scene at press time.
