WILLIAMSPORT -- District V of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania will hold a dedication of the Blue Star Marker at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Scenic View Lookout on Route 15, south of Williamsport.

This marker is a tribute to all veterans. This is the first Blue Star Marker to be dedicated within District V. Cooperations between District V and the state Department of Transportation District have made this dedication possible.

The Blue Star Memorial Program has been in existence through the garden club movement for more than 60 years.

The Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., the largest volunteer gardening organization in the world.

The Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania is divided into 11 districts. District V is comprised of the Alexandria Garden Club, the Duboistown Garden Club, the McEwensville Garden Club, the Mifflin Garden Club, the Milton Garden Club, the Petals and Pods Garden Club, the Standing Stone Garden Club and the Susquehanna Garden Club.
