Mifflinburg driver hurt in two-car crash

STONINGTON — A Mifflinburg woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 61 at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, state police at Stonington said.

Trooper Mark Adams said Doris J. Gaiser, 79, of Mifflinburg, was traveling south when she tried to make a turn onto Fox Road as Rita Marie Klock, 62, of Millmont, was driving north. Klock slammed into Gaiser’s car, causing major damage to both vehicles, police said.

Gaiser was taken by ambulance to Sunbury Community Hospital. Klock was not injured. Both women were wearing seat belts, police said.

State police were assisted by the Upper Augusta Fire Company and Americus Ambulance.

Gaiser will be cited with a traffic violation, Adams said.
