TURBOTVILLE – Suspects with an apparent preference for Newport brand cigarettes are wanted in connection with a robbery early today at the Turkey Hill Market along Route 54 in Turbotville.
State police at Milton said the two men entered the store. One man demanded money from the clerk while the other removed cigarettes from the shelves behind the counter. The suspects then fled on foot and, possibly to a vehicle parked nearby.
An undetermined amount of money and Newport brand cigarettes were stolen, police said. No weapons were involved and no one was injured.
One of the suspects is described as a black male, 5-feet, five-inches tall with a thin build, wearing light jeans and a dark hooded sweatshirt. The other suspect is a while man, tall, with a thin build.
Investigators said today that this crime may be related to a similar holdup at the same store on Oct. 8.
Police are hoping to speak with possible witnesses to the crime. They include people in a white van who purchased gasoline just a moment before the robbery and a truck driver who may have witnessed the suspects fleeing the scene. Those persons and anyone else with information are asked to contact state police at Milton.
