SELINSGROVE — A 31-year-old man was jailed Monday on charges he stalked and threatened to kill a former girlfriend.
State police at Selinsgrove said Raymond Clayton Delaney, of Valley Lodge, Routes 11-15, Hummels Wharf, admitted he called the woman and went to Wal-Mart, where she was working late Sunday night, and deflated two tires on her parked car.
Police were called to the department store in Monroe Township, Snyder County, at 11:15 p.m. to meet with the unidentified woman, who said she was in fear for her life because Delaney had threatened to kill her and her family and showed up at the store about 30 minutes earlier, court records said.
Delaney’s visit to the store was captured on store surveillance tape, police said.
While police were interviewing her, court records said, Delaney called store management and asked for personal information about the woman, including her address.
Police later escorted the woman to her car and found the two flat tires.
By 11:30 p.m., Delaney was tracked down at his motel room and confessed that he had gone to his former girlfriend’s workplace and let the air out of her tires.
He is being held in the Snyder County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail after being arraigned Monday by District Judge Edward Mihalik Jr. on charges of terroristic threats, stalking, harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
