15 cited with underage drinking
RIVERSIDE — Fifteen minors were cited with underage drinking after police busted up a party in Riverside, authorities said.
Sgt. Steven Watkins, of the Riverside Police Department, said the party took place Oct. 11 at an Avenue G home. Danville police told Riverside officers they received a tip about a large group of underage people gathered at the home and drinking alcoholic beverages. Some of the minors were parking at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church and being shuttled to the home.
Police said they checked the parking lot and saw there were vehicles that did not belong there, as there were no church activities going on at the time.
Upon arriving at the home, police found 23 people inside. They said no one was 21 or older.
Fifteen underage drinking citations were filed against 12 people ages 15 to 17. Three others were 18 or older: Stephen Snyder, 19, of 90 Meadowbrook, Danville; Drew Fisher, 18, of 103 Ash St., Danville; and Codi Klein, 18, of 122 Grand St., Danville.
The citations were filed in District Judge Robert Bolton’s office in Sunbury.
Others at the party did not drink any alcoholic beverages, police said.
The parents of those involved were contacted, and arrangements were made to pick up the youths.
The investigation is continuing into who supplied the alcohol for the gathering.
