DANVILLE — A 16-year-old remains in critical condition and her two passengers have been released after their vehicle rolled multiple times and threw the passengers onto the road.
Morgan Yagel, of Danville, was driving Thursday on Route 642 in Liberty Valley when her sport-utility vehicle crashed into a fence and telephone pole and rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its roof.
Yagel was thrown from the vehicle and taken to Geisinger Medical Center where she is being held.
Her passengers, Chelsea Boedker, 15, and Maggie Temmel, 14, both of Danville, were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital Thursday. State police at Milton said the injuries were moderate.
Danville Area School District Superintendent Susan Bickford said on Friday that staff was alerted early Friday morning of the accident and prepared for students and staff through the Student Assistance Team, counselors and local ministerium.
“Our staff has been wonderful at stepping up to help students deal with their emotions and their concerns,” she said in an e-mail. “We will continue to reassure students and offer counseling as needed.”
