Crash victims still critical

DANVILLE — A Valley teenager and a woman involved in two separate crashes late last week both remain in critical condition at Geisinger Medical Center.

Morgan Yagel, 16, and Brittany Eshenaur, 21, were critical Saturday night according to the hospital nursing supervisor.

Yagel, of Danville, was injured Thursday on Route 642 in Liberty Valley Township when her sport-utility vehicle crashed into a fence and telephone pole and rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof. She was thrown from the vehicle.

Eshenaur, of Freeburg, was injured Friday when her vehicle was stopped in the southbound lane of Route 35 east of Freeburg, waiting to turn left. Her vehicle was struck from behind by a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Jeffrey Leitzel, of Richfield. The impact forced Eshenaur’s car into the northbound lane, where it was struck by a 2004 Jeep Liberty driven by Gary Carstettler, of Freeburg.
