Motorcyclist injured in a two-vehicle accident near Trevorton



TREVORTON – A Coal Township man was injured in a fiery motorcycle accident Sunday night south of Trevorton, according to the state police at Stonington.

Police said Donald Rothermel, 51, tried to pass two vehicles on a Franklin Road in Zerbe Township when his motorcycle struck a pick-up truck driven by Jordan Bixler, 21, of Trevorton.

According to eyewitnesses the truck heading north veered into the lane of the motorcyclist.

Police said Rothermel sustained moderate injuries in the crash. He was transported to a unknown hospital for treatment.

Police say he was wearing a helmet. Bixler was not injured.
