DANVILLE – A man who lived with a couple allegedly assaulted the woman and raped her at gunpoint.

Dwaine Allen Gauger, 38, of Bucknell Trailer Court near Montandon, allegedly held the gun to the woman’s head while raping her. He also bit the woman on the chest, according to the charges filed by state police at Milton.

Gauger was arraigned Tuesday and released on $100,000 unsecured bail.

He moved in with the woman, her boyfriend and her three children around Aug. 15 after he did construction work around their home on Continental Boulevard in Derry Township.

According to the 32-year-old woman, Gauger immediately became interested in her and become possessive of her when any of her boyfriend’s brothers or friends stopped over or when her boyfriend showed her affection.

The woman, who was not identified because of the nature of the case, told police Gauger would drink frequently all day and became mean and aggressive with her and her children from Sept. 7-28.

After her boyfriend left to drive truck Sept. 23 and Gauger had drank grain alcohol with tea most of the day, he started arguments with her. She told him she didn’t want to deal with him and was going to bed. He grabbed her by the arm and yelled at her, she said. Gauger then went to the second floor looking for clothes and when he walked back downstairs, he was naked, according to the charges. After he yelled for her to find him some shorts, he followed her upstairs and kicked her in the leg, knocking her to the ground, police said.

When she grabbed her cell phone to call her boyfriend, Gauger hit it from her hand and took the house phone from her too.

The woman grabbed a handgun in a case her boyfriend had. Gauger took the loaded gun out of the case and said “you’re going to take it and promise not to claim rape,” according to the charges filed in the office of Montour County District Judge Marvin Shrawder..

After he allegedly raped her, the woman reached up to try and get the gun. Gauger grabbed both her hands, pinning them above her head, police said. He emptied the cartridges out of the gun on the floor and emptied two other weapons in the room. He gave the woman a sheet to cover up with, took her downstairs and made her lie on the couch. He fell asleep on top of her, not allowing her to get up, she told police.

She lay there several hours until 6 a.m. and told him the kids were going to be up and she needed to get them off to school. He allowed her to get up and get the kids on the school bus.

Gauger then gathered his belongings and left the home, according to the charges.

Police charged him with aggravated assault, rape, possessing an instrument of crime, two counts of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and indecent assault.
