Four local military personnel have returned home after being deployed overseas.
Three of them served in the Army National Guard in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Specialist Nathan H. Hartenbach was decorated with the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Army Commendation Medal. An indirect fire team leader and a Stryker vehicle gunner, he is assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 104th Cavalry, based in Hazleton. He has served in the military for seven years.
Hartenbach is the son of Ralph B. and Julie A. Hartenbach, of Catawissa. He graduated in 2004 from Southern Columbia High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 2008 from Temple University.
Specialist Kala M. Seaman, a health care specialist (combat medic) assigned to the 328th Brigade Support Battalion, Lancaster, has three years of military service. She is the daughter of Diane M. and Jimmy L. Seaman, of Liverpool. Kala is a 2007 graduate of Greenwood High School.
Sergeant Robert J. Luta Jr., a cavalry scout, is normally assigned to the B Troop, 2nd Squadron, 104th Calvary, Reconnaissance Surveillance Targeting Acquisition, Easton. The sergeant has 17 years of military service. He is the son of Robert J. and Jo Ann Luta, of Shamokin, and a 1987 graduate of Shamokin High School.
Army Reserve Lt. Col. Bradley K. Lauver, a civil affairs officer, is normally assigned to the 360th Civil Affairs Brigade, Fort Jackson, S.C. He has 33 years of military service. He is the son of Betty M. Lauver, of Dalmatia. He is a 1975 graduate of Line Mountain Junior-Senior High School.
