— Man charged with corruption
SUNBURY — Police have charged a Sunbury man with giving alcohol to four teenagers.
City police said David Shawn Yates, of 1100 N. Fourth St., bought vodka for the youths — two boys, 15 and 17, and two girls, 13 and 14 — on Nov. 1, then invited them to back to his home after drinking by the dike wall.
The girls admitted to consuming the alcohol and having an “improper relationship” with Yates, according to police.
He was charged with four misdemeanor counts each of corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors and was placed in the Northumberland County Prison on a probation violation.

Club cited for noise
MILTON — Loud music on three occasions has brought a citation by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement against a Front Street nightclub, officials said.
State agents cited Big Andy’s, 14 S. Front St., because music from an inside amplification system allegedly was audible on the street. According to the citation, music and other entertainment was heard on Oct. 11, 18 and 25.

Tree Fest opens Friday
SELINSGROVE — The fifth annual Tree Fest of Children’s Books will be held from Friday through Dec. 19 at All Saints Episcopal Church social hall, 129 N. Market St.
The event features trees and wreaths decorated in the themes of children’s books. Church groups, community organizations, businesses, school groups and individuals are participating in the event, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Selinsgrove Library as a way to promote reading and emphasize the importance of children’s books.
Admission is free. Visitors will vote for their favorite trees, and money raised will benefit the Snyder County Libraries Summer Reading Programs.
The Friends group is a nonprofit organization of volunteers who work to inform the community about the library’s services and programs and to advocate for the library in the community. It raises money to enhance and expand the library’s collections, facilities, services and programs. Other fundraisers are a spring book sale, quilt raffle and crock sale.

Santa deadline is Friday
LEWISBURG — The deadline for the “Be A Santa To A Senior” program is Friday.
Those who have taken a gift ornament are asked to return the gift to the Lewisburg Super Wal-Mart, Swineford Bank on International Drive or Sovereign Bank on Market Street.
