Nearly nine months after it collapsed, Middlecreek Township Supervisors Richard Constant, Donald Athey along with Knorr’s contracting supervisor Willie Confare, opened the bridge for traffic at approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Nearly nine months after it collapsed, Middlecreek Township Supervisors Richard Constant, Donald Athey along with Knorr’s contracting supervisor Willie Confare, opened the bridge for traffic at approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Because of unforeseen circumstances, the bridge took longer to replace than expected, the supervisors said. The highly traveled bridge was a major artery to Freeburg and was a short escape for employees at Wood-Mode, Bingamans and Kreamer Feed, as well as residents who lived on the south side of Kreamer.
