Watsontown man jailed for allegedly injecting heroin into teenager's arm

WATSONTOWN — A Watsontown man is locked up after police say he injected heroin into the arm of a 16-year-old on Christmas day when the teenager said he had never tried heroin.

Chad Lewis Brouse, 21, faces a felony count of manufacturing, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a Controlled Substance, and three misdemeanor charges, including corruption of minor, recklessly endangering another person and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brouse was arrested on Christmas day after police talked to the 16-year-old when investigating the delivery of a controlled substance and the youth told police that earlier that afternoon Brouse shot a syringe of heroin into the young man’s arm after asking him if he ever “shot up” before, police said. The young man said he had never tried heroin before, so Brouse shot him up, police said the young man told them.

Brouse then instructed the 16-year-old to throw the baggy which originally held the heroin in it into the garbage.

Police recovered the baggy and when Brouse was arrested in New Columbia, he was found to be in possession of revealed a syringe, spoon, needle and other drug paraphernalia in his pocket, police said.

Brouse remains in Northumberland County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. A hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 22 at the District Magistrate’s office in Milton.
