Danville woman admits cutting man's throat with knife

DANVILLE — A Danville woman has pleaded guilty to cutting a man’s throat with a utility knife.

Sharon Marie Arndt, 46, of Suite 3 of 218 Mill St., entered guilty pleas Monday to aggravated assault and to a separate case of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

She will be sentenced in Montour County Court following a records check.

Danville police charged Arndt with aggravated assault and simple assault of Jeff Shearer June 3.

Montour County’s 911 Center received a call from a man saying his girlfriend tried to cut his throat. The man didn’t identify himself but gave Arndt’s address.

Police said they saw a cut on Shear’s neck when they arrived.

Shearer told police he fell asleep on the bed and woke up to Arndt trying to cut his neck.

Arndt told police several times she didn’t know what had happened because she was sleeping. She had a small amount of blood on her right hand and seemed surprised when police showed it to her.

The DUI charge relates to her being stopped in a mini van in Danville May 5. Police said her blood alcohol level was 0.14 percent.
