Thanks to the efforts of Sunbury Revitalization Inc., and the city of Sunbury, children who are looking to stay up late and for New Year’s Eve action have a fun, safe place to go.
The Sunbury Skate Rink.
“This is another example of the city offering opportunities,” Mayor David Persing said.
Persing said the New Year’s Eve committee approached the city with the idea and the mayor bit.
The ice rink is one of the cities hidden jewels and Persing said he invites all of the Greater Susquehanna Valley to join in the fun.
The New Year’s Eve event is free to the public and will also consist of activities in Cameron Park for children from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
There will be free carriage rides around the park and beginning at 9 p.m. The band Separate Ways will be performing outside the Edison Hotel, on Fourth and Market streets.
Separate Ways the band is a tribute band to the rock and roll hall of fame band “Journey.”
There will also be a countdown to the lighting of a large light bulb in front of the Hotel Edison.
