— LEWISBURG — No idea yet “who he’s wearing,” but the Valley will have a representative on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards: Bucknell University graduate Bill Westenhofer was nominated Thursday for his special effects work on the movie, “Life of Pi.”

How did he do it? Bucknell offers a chance to find out: Westenhofer will give the talk, “The Visual Effects of ’Life of Pi’ ” at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Campus Theatre in Lewisburg. Admission is $2.

Westenhofer, a 1990 Bucknell graduate, was nominated for best achievement in visual effects for “Pi,” a drama about a young man who survives a disaster at sea and is stranded with a fierce Bengal tiger on board.

And Westenhofer is no stranger to the Oscars, winning in 2008 for his visual effects work on the movie, “The Golden Compass,” the university said in a statement.
