— MILTON — A brawl involving 10 people erupted on Rose Street on Sunday, with a few of those involved wielding knives, according to reports. Three or four of the combatants required medical attention.

Police were called at 4:30 p.m., and the initial report indicated someone had been stabbed.

The fight reportedly involved residents of 31 Rose St. as well as others who were outside on the street.

In an alley on the southern side of the Rockwell Retirement Center, officers from Watsontown, Mifflinburg and Buffalo Valley Regional police were seen placing a boy and a girl, both around high school age, in police cars. An officer at the scene was unable to go into details, other than to say they were asked to look for someone and they found the person.

A neighbor, who did not give his name, said he opened his door and saw the fight in progress. He quickly closed the door and retreated inside.

He did not know what started the fight. The altercation lasted about five minutes and mainly occurred on the street in front of 31 Rose St. and in nearby alleys. The arrival of police broke it up.
