Frat brother robbers waive preliminary hearings

LEWISBURG — Two Bucknell University students facing multiple felony charges for allegedly stealing laptop computers, textbooks, cash and assorted items from fellow fraternity brothers waived their preliminary hearings last week.

The next day in court for Jeffrey Finegan, 21, of Phillipsburg, N.J., and Carter Wells, 21, of Branford, Conn., will be May 6 for formal arraignments. Both men are free on $25,000 bail each.

Charges stem from burglaries Feb. 16 and 17 at rooms of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity on campus. Finegan and Wells are Delta Upsilon members, and Finegan had been fraternity president.

Finegan faces three counts of burglary, three counts of criminal trespass and one count of receiving stolen property.

Wells faces charges of burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and two counts of conspiracy.
