— SUNBURY — Convicted murderer Kevin Marinelli’s federal appeal of his 1995 death sentence is on hold pending his latest petition for post conviction relief act filed in Northumberland County Court.

Marinelli, 41, is fighting execution for the April 1994 torture-murder of Conrad Dumchock during a home invasion in Kulpmont.

His latest federal appeal was put on hold Tuesday pending a decision in county court on the PCRA filing that alleges trial witness Nathan Reigle now claims then District Attorney Robert B. Sacavage told him how to lie at the 1995 trial about Marinelli’s role in the killing.

Reigle also claims threats caused him to invoke his right against self-incrimination and not testify for Marinelli at his post-conviction hearing in January 2000.

Marinelli is currently on death row at State Correctional Institute at Green.

His co-defendants, brother Mark Marinelli and Thomas Kirchoff, are each serving life sentences for their involvement in Dumchock’s death.
