The Sunbury River Festival continues to grow and with the edition of two “American Idols” to the talent line-up Front Street is sure to be rockin’ on August 17.
“This is going to be awesome,” River Festival tri-chair Slade Shreck said. “For two American Idols to come to Sunbury is just great.”
Kendall Phillips, who appeared in 2006 on the popular Fox television show will be arriving in Sunbury and is excited to entertain the fans with “You Should Know,” which is No. 89 on the top 100 County Breakout Chart this week.
Kaylan Loyd, who appeared on American Idol in 2009, will also be making her way to the Valley to spend the weekend at River Festival meeting and greeting fans.
Both idols will be performing on the main stage on Front Street, Aug. 17.
Loyd, of Nashville, Tennessee, is the daughter of Gary Loyd, an award winning songwriter, who has written songs for several top artists, including Jon Bon Jovi.
Kaylan Loyd began working in her father’s studio, and sang on her first CD at age 8, for Liz Anderson’s “Fairy Grandmother.”
Phillips has performed across the country and recently opened for artists, Justin Moore, Darius Rucker, Steel Magnolia, Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, and Jerrod Neimann.
“We started talking about this idea and it started to come together,” Shreck said. “I believe people will enjoy these two girls and we are excited to have them here in Sunbury.”
