RIVERSIDE — A Saturday evening fire destroyed a ranch-style house in Northumberland County and left a family of six homeless.
The fire, on Crest Haven Road in Rush Township, broke out around 6 on Saturday. The back half of the home was completely leveled by flames.
Property owner Janelle Eshbach, watching firefighters work to douse the blaze, said no one was home at the time. Eshbach lives in the home with her husband, Marvin, and the couple’s four boys.
“We were just down the road and somebody told us (what happened),” Marvin Eshbach said.
