SUNBURY — Sunbury police have charged a city man with drugging and raping a 14-year-old girl he was baby-sitting over the course of eight months, court documents said.
Andrew Moore, 38, of 154 Walnut St., who already was being held in the Northumberland County Prison on charges of intimidating witnesses, appeared in front of District Judge Ben Apfelbaum on Monday in the sex case.
The alleged victim was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center of Northumberland County and disclosed that she was 13 when the sexual relationship with Moore began, court documents said.
Sgt. Christopher Blase investigated the case and said the girl had sexual intercourse with Moore in June after he gave her Percocet pills to help her sleep. The girl was in bed with Moore, and he began to have sex with her while her sister was sleeping in the same room, court documents said.
The teenager had sex with Moore 10 times since June, court documents said.
The alleged victim’s sister also spoke to Child Advocacy Center officials. She said she was asleep in the room with Moore and her sister, but woke up when she received a text message and saw Moore having sex with her sister, court documents said.
The next morning, Moore told the sister not to tell anyone what she saw and that he loved her sister, police said.
