Morning snow triggers traffic accidents

TURBOTVILLE - The mid-morning snow caused a three-car pile-up along Route 54 near Turbotville, though no one was seriously injured, according to police.

It was one of several traffic incidents reported during a burst of snow and ice this morning.

A white Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling along Route 54 toward Turbotville, between Beaver Run and County Line Roads, at about 10 a.m. when it began spinning out of control and struck an oncoming Honda Passport, said Joan Herbert, who was driving behind the Passport and had to swerve into a nearby fence to avoid striking the vehicles.

"He just smashed right into (the Passport)," Herbert said. "They started coming back toward me, so I had to get out of the way."

None of the drivers or passengers in the three vehicles were seriously injured or had to be transported from the, according to police on the scene.

The Warrior Run Fire Department responded to the crash.
