Gunfire in home ends in charges

— PORT TREVORTON — A 56-year-old Snyder County man is in jail after he fired a rifle in his home during a dispute with a woman he threatened to kill.

State police at Selinsgrove said the incident happened May 26 when Stephen Wayne Gundrum ordered Frances I. Gundrum, 59, to remove an attic window at his 512 Schrey Hollow Road home in Union Township so he could get a “clear shot” at police he assumed were going to be coming up his driveway.

When she refused, Stephen Gundrum allegedly pointed a rifle at her and then fired a shot away from her, police said.

He also threatened to kill her and told her not to call police and to stay on a couch.

He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail after being arraigned before on-call District Judge Leo Armbruster Thursday on charges of terroristic threats, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, unlawful restraint, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
