Man exposes himself to three women

MOUNT CARMEL — Borough police are asking the public to help identify a man who authorities say exposed himself to women in the borough Monday night.

Police released a photo of the suspect on their Facebook page Tuesday, saying the man was caught on a surveillance camera at the Dollar General store at Fifth and Market streets. The suspect is described as a white, six-foot male in his 20s with spiked hair and wearing a hoodie and dark pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Northumberland County 911 Center at (570) 648-3868.

Police said the suspect first exposed himself to a woman who was walking near Fourth and Hickory streets shortly before 10 p.m.

About 10 minutes later, two women sitting on a porch in the 300 block of South Market Street reported that the man exposed himself to them.

The victims reported that the suspect walked south on Market to Seventh Street before continuing east on Seventh Street, when the women lost sight of him.

Police said they do not believe these incidents are related to the investigation into a reported rape last week. No arrests have been made in that case.

Police said residents should be vigilant and carry a cell phone when walking at night and should report any suspicious activities or people by dialing 911 immediately.
