Police start checks on Megan’s Law compliance

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania State Police say they’ve arrested two men and are investigating a third person after the first set of checks under a new effort to verify sexual offenders’ compliance with Megan’s Law.

Police said Tuesday they checked 92 homes and work places in Juniata and Mifflin counties over two days last week.

One man is accused of failing to disclose an email address and a Facebook account, while the other allegedly failed to report a change of address.

The checks are being done in cooperation with local police under the state police’s newly formed Megan’s Law Compliance Unit.
