— DANVILLE — A Liberty Township man was ordered Monday to pay more than $7,000 and was placed on supervised probation for one year after pleading guilty to killing three bucks without having a hunting license in Liberty Township.

Fred M. Hagenbuch Jr., 52, of 92 Creek Road, admitted to three ungraded misdemeanors of unlawful killing of deer and to a summary offense of not having a hunting license Monday before Montour County District Judge Marvin Shrawder.

Shrawder ordered him to pay $2,400 in restitution, including $800 for each buck killed, fines of $4,750 and court costs of $82 or a total of $7,232.

Montour County District Attorney Rebecca Warren said the Pennsylvania Game Commission, which filed the charges, wasn’t looking for incarceration.

She said the defendant will now have to deal with “the feds” because he is currently on parole. Frank Adamo, special agent with the U.S. Department of Justice, attended the preliminary hearing. Afterward, he said he couldn’t comment about Hagenbuch who represented himself at the district judge proceeding.
