VIDEO: Toomey makes case against ethanol in gasoline

The Daily Item

WASHINGTON – Working to improve energy legislation pending before the Senate, U.S. Senator Pat Toomey, R-Pa., today made his case in a floor speech to repeal a law that drives up the cost of gasoline and groceries and harms the environment and the economy. Toomey’s amendment is identical to bipartisan legislation he introduced earlier this year to repeal the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). The RFS was established in 2005 and requires refiners to blend increasing volumes of biofuels, most often corn ethanol, into the nation’s gasoline supplies.
