Woman hospitalized following Liberty Valley Road crash

DANVILLE - A woman is in serious condition after a two-car accident that caused a pick-up truck to be knocked off the road and onto a nearby lawn.

According to initial reports by state police from the Milton barracks, Darla Bomboy, of Danville, rear-ended Joseph Berezowski, 50, of Danville, as he was turning into his residence at 760 Liberty Valley Road at around 12:20 p.m., Wednesday. No age listing was available for Bomboy.

Bomboy was listed as being in serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center following the crash. Berezowski was not listed as being treated at Geisinger following the crash, though he was also taken by Danville Ambulance for treatment.

According to Berezowski’s mother, who also lives at 760 Liberty Valley Road, her son was able to move and talk following the accident.

A cause for the crash was not available as of press time.

Berezowski’s mother, who did not wish to give her name to the paper, said she saw her son put on his turn signal to pull into the house for lunch. She looked away and “then I heard this great big thud.” His pick-up truck flipped over, after being struck by Bomboy’s Chevy Spark, and landed on its wheels on the lawn of 760 Liberty Valley Road.

Traffic was reduced around the accident.

Also responding to the scene were Liberty Fire Company, Valley Township Fire Department and Potts Grove Fire Company.
