Mifflinburg driver dies in one-car accident

MIFFLINBURG — A Mifflinburg resident was killed in a one-car accident at 2 a.m. Friday in West Buffalo Township, Union County, according to the state police at Milton.

Justin M. Lloyd, 27, was traveling north on Pleasant Grove Road when his car went off the road for unknown reasons and struck a tree.

According to police, Lloyd's 2008 Mazda 6 overturned after it left the road, and he was not wearing a seat belt.

Lloyd was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries suffered in the accident.

Police were assisted by the Mifflinburg Fire Department and ambulance service.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Wesleyan Church in Milton. Burial will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.

Lloyd was a 1999 graduate of Mifflinburg High School and SUN Area Vocational-Technical School, where he ranked first in his masonry class.

Lloyd's family is asking that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to either Pennsylvania Cystic Fibrosis Inc., based in Mifflinburg, or Cancer Care of Central Pennsylvania, in Lewisburg.
