LEWISBUURG - A manhole rehabilitation project at the intersection of Route 15 south and Route 45 west in Lewisburg is set for this week.
The work is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Monday, with completion on or before 7 p.m. April 29.
The work will be performed with a detour of certain movements at the intersection during this time period.
Traffic control will be done by closing the following lanes: The southbound driving lane and the northbound left-turn lane of Route 15 will be closed. The eastbound left-turn lane and the westbound driving lane of Route 45 will be closed on the west side of the intersection. The westbound driving lane will be closed on the east side of the intersection. All lane closures will be done in the area of the intersection.
The detour will use Fairground Road and Route 192 between Routes 45 and 15.
Prime contractor Don E. Bower, Inc. will work approximately 12-hour days to get the work done as quickly as possible.
Motorists should anticipate delays through this area and plan extra time for their travels.
During an inspection last fall, the manhole was found to be deteriorated and in need of replacing. Due to the complexity of the manhole a new manhole needs to be built on-site.
