— DANVILLE — An insurance company is suing two former firefighters who have pleaded guilty to torching a client’s barn.

The Celina Mutual Insurance Co., of Celina, Ohio, filed suit against Charles W. Jacobs, 35, of 118 N. Fifth St., Lewisburg, and Zane P. Snyder, 19, of 948 Sodom Road, Milton.

According to the civil suit filed in Montour County Court, the company insured the property of Neil A. Jenkins, including a barn at 255 Potts Grove Road, Montour County.

The defendants set fire to the Liberty Township barn Feb. 12, causing $80,805 in damage, according to the action.

The former Potts Grove firefighters have pleaded guilty to arson involving the barn, two homes and a field.

Snyder is scheduled for sentencing Monday in Montour County Court, and Jacobs is listed for a motions hearing the same day.

Jacobs faces up to 66 years in prison. Snyder faces a lesser maximum sentence of up to 52 years in prison because he initially cooperated with investigators.

Both have been confined to jail since their arrests earlier this year.
