SUNBURY - The biggest celebrity of them all will arrive Friday to greet his fans.
The jolly bearded man will arrive in style thanks to members of the Sunbury Kiwanis Club as they parade Santa Claus through the city.
For more than 30 years Santa has paid his friends in Sunbury an early visit, so the city decided to give him a house in case he wanted to spend time here.
Santa will be stopping at his Sunbury home every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and every Friday and Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
He is even going to visit with children on Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m.
But first he will be honored during the parade, which will start at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Raspberry Avenue. It will travel to South10th Street, continue to Market Street and end at Cameron Park around 7 p.m.
The Sunbury City Band will perform in Cameron Park from 6 to 7 p.m. as well.
Santa said he will stay until every child has been seen Friday night, and he will provide hot cocoa and cookies in the park.
He has also bring two reindeer to watch over things. Snowflake and Jingles will be available. Santa said they are looking forward to meeting everyone.
Sunbury Revitalization Inc.’s Lite Fest committee is responsible for Santa’s visit.
