Police investigating attempted abduction in Middleburg

MIDDLEBURG - Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a 13-year-old boy as he was walking to school this morning.

Police said the boy was walking to school when he was in the area of West Market Street and Spring Alley in Middleburg at about 8:30 a.m. and he was approached by a male who said, "Come on, you're coming with me."

The boy ran away as the subject grabbed at the back of his shirt, police said. The victim was able to reach safety without physical injury.

The suspect is identified as a white male, approximately 40-years-old and 5'10" tall, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, police said. He has light-colored hair, blue jeans, black boots and facial hair.

The suspect may also have a long scar on his right forearm and two smaller scars on his left forearm, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Middleburg police at 837-0321.
