DANVILLE — DANVILLE – The Danville Ferry Street Growers Market will reopen May 18.
The market next to Cole’s Hardware on Ferry Street will be open from 8 a.m. to noon.
The market, open Saturdays through Nov. 23, will sell locally grown and produced goods.
There will be a variety of activities throughout the season including musicians, a guest chef, customer surveys, basket giveaways, nutritional programs, canning demonstrations, a master gardener demonstration, a corn roast and chicken barbecue.
Items offered for sale will include organic foods, handmade soap, wood products, fruits, vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, bedding plants, potted plants, jellies, whole grains, eggs and poultry, baked goods, cheese and raw milk.
Musicians are scheduled May 18 and 25, June 1 and 22, July 6 and 20, Aug. 3 and 24, Sept. 7 and 21 and Oct. 19 and 26.
Penn State nutritional programs will be presented June 29, Aug. 10 and Sept. 21.
Barbecued chicken will be available June 15 and Aug. 24.
Basket giveaways will be June 15, Aug. 24 and Oct. 5.
Guest chefs will be on hand July 20 and Sept. 14.
Customer Appreciation Day will be Aug. 24.
Kids coloring contests are scheduled July 27 and Oct. 12.
